Delivery notes for Bendinat & Portals Nous
Drives in Bendinat are steep and often turn tightly inside the gate, which rules out backing a lorry to the terrace. The usual solution is a mobile crane parked on the road lifting the spa over the house to the pool level, 450 to 650 euros for a lift up to 15 m and 900 to 1,500 for the long reach needed on some Costa d'en Blanes plots. Narrow private roads such as those around the Bendinat golf course mean we book the crane for early morning before the gardeners' vans arrive.
Sea-view terraces
The spa goes where the view is. In Bendinat and Portals that means the pool terrace or an upper deck on the sea side of the house, which is exactly the side the lorry cannot reach. We photograph the route on a site visit, measure the lift height and the reach, and bring the crane operator into the quote so there is one number rather than a surprise on the day.
Models that do well on the hill
The Serra 5 is the most common choice, a 5-seater with two loungers that fits a 3 by 3 m corner of a terrace and still leaves the view clear when the cover is on. Buyers who entertain more go to the Mar 5 for the quieter Signature equipment, and swim spa enquiries here are usually for the Nedar 5.2, often as a replacement for a pool that was too small to swim in.
Salt, sun and the Puerto Portals wind
These terraces face south-west over the bay, so they take full afternoon sun and a steady salt breeze. We fit the UV-stable cabinet finish and recommend a cover lifter, because a heavy cover handled by hand on a windy terrace ends up scratched or in the pool. Covers last about half as long on the coast as inland, which is why they carry a 1-year warranty rather than 5.
Urbanisation rules
Many plots sit inside urbanisations with their own statutes about works, noise hours and what is visible from the road. A free-standing spa on a private terrace normally needs no building licence, but a sunken installation with excavation is works, and some communities want notice. Check with your community before we dig.
