Footprint to scale

Top view at true proportions, seats and loungers marked. Allow 60 cm of clear space on at least one side for servicing, and a path at least 100 cm wide on delivery day, because the tub travels on its side.

Big tub, simple spec

There is a kind of buyer who wants room for six and nothing clever. That is the Cala 6. Six upright seats, no lounger, a digital pad on the rim, and a price of €10,990 installed including IVA. It is 215×215×90 cm and holds 1,350 litres, the same footprint as the Serra 5 but on Essential equipment.

Six upright seats also means six people actually fit. A tub with loungers loses space to legs. Here each seat is a seat, with a slightly raised cool-down position at one corner.

Two pumps, 52 jets

The Cala 6 is the only Essential tub with two 3 HP pumps. One drives three seats, the other drives the other three, so all six people get full pressure at once. There are 40 hydro jets and 12 air jets, spread across back, shoulders, hips and calves. The 4.5 kW heater is bigger than on the smaller Cala models and keeps up with the volume in winter.

What it does not have is a circulation pump, a touchscreen or app control. Filtration runs on the main pumps at low speed on a timer. If you want to pre-heat from the airport or run it on a second home for weeks unattended, the Serra 6 adds those for €3,500 more. For a house where somebody is always there, the Cala 6 does the job.

Access, weight and power

The tub is 90 cm high, so it needs a clear path of 100 cm on its side, no steps, from the lorry to the base. On a villa in Son Vida or Bendinat that is normally a side gate. In Deià or Fornalutx it is usually a crane, €450–650 for a lift up to 15 m, more if the house sits well below the road.

Dry weight is 380 kg. Full and with six people it is about 2.2 tonnes, which a ground-level concrete or paved base takes.

Power is the point where the Cala 6 differs from the smaller Essentials: two pumps and the 4.5 kW heater need a dedicated 20 A line with an RCD, not 16 A. We confirm on the site visit whether your consumer unit has that spare. A new line up to 15 m is €550–750; 15–30 m is €850–1,200.

What it costs to run

The Essential range figure on Mallorca's €0.22/kWh tariff is about €35–45 a month in summer and €60–80 in winter, at 38 °C and three uses a week. With 1,350 litres and standard insulation, the Cala 6 runs at the top of both ranges, and a bit above in an exposed spot that catches the tramuntana. A good cover, kept clamped, is most of the answer.

Water changes are every three months on hard island water, from €180 if we do them, and a water care visit from €95 covers calcium and sanitiser between changes.

Questions about the Cala 6

More questions? Ask on WhatsApp.

Is 16 A enough for the Cala 6?

No. With two pumps and a 4.5 kW heater it needs a dedicated 20 A line with an RCD. We check your consumer unit before you commit.

What access width do you need?

100 cm clear, no steps, because it travels on its side and is 90 cm high. Narrower or with stairs means a crane.

Does six seats mean six adults?

Yes, because there is no lounger taking up space. Six adults sit upright with room for knees; it is the most honest six-seater in the range.

What is the winter running cost?

Around €60–80 a month at 38 °C, three uses a week. The Cala 6 is at the top of that band because it is the largest Essential tub.
