Hydro jets are the pressurised water jets that do the massage. Air jets add bubbles and warmth but little pressure, so jet count alone does not tell you how strong a tub feels: pump power shared across fewer jets does. How to read jet counts
Footprint to scale
Top view at true proportions, seats and loungers marked. Allow 60 cm of clear space on at least one side for servicing, and a path at least 105 cm wide on delivery day, because the tub travels on its side.
Made to order, 6–8 weeks
The Mar 5 is not in the warehouse. Signature tubs are built to order and arrive 6–8 weeks after you confirm, which gives us time to run the electrics and pour a base if needed. For a buyer who wants a tub this week, the Serra 5 is in stock and shares the five-seat, two-lounger layout. The Mar 5 is for the buyer who has decided the tub will be used all year and wants the lowest running cost and the least water maintenance over a decade.
It is 220×220×95 cm, holds 1,450 litres and weighs 480 kg dry. Price is €16,490 installed, including IVA, delivery and standard installation with ground-level access.
Signature features
Three things set the Signature series apart. Full-foam insulation fills the cabinet entirely, so the heat has nowhere to go; that is the main reason a Mar costs less to run than a Serra. UV and ozone water treatment comes as standard, which on the island's hard, calcium-rich water cuts the chlorine or bromine you add by a large margin. And there are three 3 HP pumps plus a circulation pump, so every seat runs at full pressure at the same time.
The seats are two loungers and three upright. 64 hydro jets and 14 air jets. Both loungers have full spine, hip and foot coverage, and the upright seats have shoulder, back and calf groups. The 6 kW heater is bigger than the Premium heater and recovers the temperature after a long session in winter in well under an hour.
Control is a colour touchscreen with wifi and an app.
Winter use
The Signature running cost on Mallorca's €0.22/kWh tariff is about €25–35 a month in summer and €45–60 in winter, at 38 °C and three uses a week. For a tub used daily by winter residents, scale that up, but the insulation means each extra use costs little more than the hot water it displaces. On a January night in the Tramuntana foothills, with 10 °C air, the difference between a Signature and an Essential tub is real money every month.
Site requirements
Height is 95 cm, so the route needs 105 cm clear with no steps. That rules out a lot of garden gates, and crane delivery is normal for a Mar: €450–650 up to 15 m, €900–1,500 if the terrace is high above the road, as it often is in Génova or Establiments. Full and occupied it weighs about 2.3 tonnes, fine on a ground-level slab.
Power is the big one: a dedicated 32 A line with an RCD. Three pumps and a 6 kW heater need it. Plan for a new line from the consumer unit, €550–750 up to 15 m, €850–1,200 for 15–30 m, and in some older houses an increase in contracted power with your supplier. We check all of this on the site visit before you order.
Questions about the Mar 5
More questions? Ask on WhatsApp.
Why is the Mar 5 made to order when the Serra 5 is in stock?
Signature tubs are built in lower volume with full-foam insulation and are specified per order. Allow 6–8 weeks, which is usually the time the electrics and base take anyway.
What electrical supply does it need?
A dedicated 32 A line with an RCD. Most homes need a new line for this and some need more contracted power. We assess it before you commit.
Will it fit through a 100 cm gate?
No. At 95 cm high on its side it needs 105 cm. Expect a crane.
What does it cost in winter?
Around €45–60 a month at 38 °C and three uses a week, the lowest in the range for a five-seater, thanks to the full-foam insulation.
